2026 Jr. Cougar Golf Camp

Hosted by Sumner-Fredericksburg Cougar Golf coaches Josh Krueger and Jalen Tranbarger, along with current Cougar Golf members and volunteers.
Camp includes 3 days of instruction, drills, and play.

Dates: June 1st, 2nd, 3rd
Where: Meadowbrook Country Club
Time: 9:00 AM--10:30 AM
Who: Camp is open to all current 2nd through 8th graders.
Camp Fee: $30 Checks payable to Cougar Golf

Equipment: Campers must bring their own clubs. Golf balls and tees provided.

Bank Iowa Student-Athletes of the Week: Jace Brinkman, Gavin Trask, Livy Schoonover, and Braelyn Suckow

"Braelyn and Livy had an incredible week in Des Moines as well. Braelyn highlighted her weekend with a new school record in the 200, qualifying for the finals in the 100, and Livy ran a season-best performance that earned a 9th-place finish in the 400. Great job, Girls!" - Coach Leete

State Track Day 3 Recap: Sydney Zupke ran a personal best in the 800 to finish 20th. Braelyn Suckow earned a medal with a 5th place finish in the 100 Meters. What an incredible three days at State Track & Field for our Cougars! We are proud of the effort, toughness, and pride our athletes showed while competing against the best in Iowa. Thank you to our coaches, families, and fans for the amazing support all season long. GO COUGARS!

State Track Day 2 Recap: The Distance Medley Relay team of Cate Snyder, Braelyn Suckow, Livy Schoonover and Sydney Zupke ran a season best time of 4:17.18 to place 11th. Gavin Trask finished his career at State in the discus.

State Track Day 1 recap: Braelyn Suckow broke her school record in 200 and placed 11th with a time of 25.95. Gavin Trask placed 5th and medaled in the Shot Put with a throw of 54'0.5". Braelyn Suckow qualified for the finals of the 100 with a time of 12.67. Livy Schoonover placed 9th with her best time of the year in the 400 with a time of 59.81. Jace Brinkman placed 7th and medaled while breaking the school record in the 400 with a time of 50.22.

A big thank you to the Brinkman family for their generous meal donation to our student-athletes. Go Cougars!

Follow the Cougar Girls Golf team at the Regional Final today.

Cougar Girls Golf update for Wednesday: The Regional Final will be a tee time start vs a shotgun start due to lower numbers. Therefore they will have a tee time start, starting at 10 AM from hole #10 and will start with the 1's and 2's and move on from there.

The Cougar Softball game at Starmont is postponed due to field conditions at Starmont. A reschedule date has yet to be determined.

Bank Iowa Student-Athlete of the Week: Jamie Jones

Jamie has been a solid senior leader for our track and field team this year. She works hard in practice, is an excellent teammate and is a great example for our younger athletes. Jamie had a great night at the NFV State Qualifying meet by placing 6th in the discus with a personal best throw. Jamie is an honor roll student and a member of the National Honor Society, a dedicated participant in Cougar Strength and Conditioning. She also participates in volleyball, wrestling and softball at SFHS.

MIDDLE SCHOOL CAMP (Grades 6–8)
⏰10:30 AM – 12:00 PM
Emphasis on shooting technique, game fundamentals, and team concepts.
Includes small-sided games and instruction on offensive & defensive principles.
Great preparation for competitive team play!
