"The Sumner-Fredericksburg High School Choir and Mrs. Sittig's class joined forces with Sonja Lampe to assemble 233 baskets for the Easter Basket Scramble. The students truly enjoyed helping and are looking forward to next year."

Shout out to these Middle School Strength & Conditioning attendance leaders! Coach Kenan is thrilled to see the progress and excitement among the athletes as they engage in this new program, learning essential lifting techniques and building a strong foundation for their physical well-being. The positive energy and hard work from our students have truly made this group exceptional.

'Twas the last week for Pennies for the Pantry, when all through the school,
Not a single teacher wanted to kiss a pig, but they were all playing it cool.
The jars of coins were lined up with care,
In hopes that this money for the pantry would soon go there.
The children were all restless in their seat,
While the vision of their teacher kissing a pig was such a treat.
And the shade of lipstick was picked out,
Which teacher would wear it and would he or she pout?

The brand new S-F Middle School Strength and Conditioning Program is off to a great start! Check out this strong group of athletes showing up to better themselves and their team! The goal of this program is to lay a solid foundation for the athletic development of these students. The program will be focused on proper lifting technique, speed and agility, and injury prevention for our young athletes. The Middle School sessions are open to all students currently in grades 7-8. If you have any questions about the program, please reach out to Mrs. Kenan.

Since it is the 100th birthday of Heart Challenge, FES students were encouraged to dress like 100-year-olds. Tate Meyer and Coy Brinkman did just that!

The 2nd through 4th grade classes participated in the Heart Challenge under the leadership of Mrs. Sorenson. FES students raised more than $2,700! Grace Rethamel and Easton Martin raised $500 or more each! Rylee Kolthoff, Charlotte Anderson, Myla Strempke, and Emrick Strempke all raised over $200 each! Some of these students got to put a pie in Mrs. Sorenson's face! All students who participated were put into a drawing, and Shay Kasemeier was the lucky winner to put a pie in Ms. Hoth's face! Thank you to all who participated in the Heart Challenge!

The preschool students at FES built leprechaun traps at home with their families and brought them to school. Today they tried to catch a leprechaun. When they left their classroom to mix up the Magic Powder that was left for them the leprechauns showed up in the classroom and made a huge mess! The leprechauns were nice and left each student a gold coin and necklace. We hope you all have a Happy St. Patrick's Day!

For caring buddies at Durant, 1B and 4A worked on a St. Patrick's Day glyph. When doing a glyph, you color a picture based on how you answer questions. For example, if they have ever chased a rainbow, they had to color the leprechaun's hat green. If they've never chased a rainbow, they would color the hat black.

Registration for future PreK students is now open for the 2024-2025 school year.
Children must be 4 years old by September 15, 2024, to participate in the program, and preschool will meet Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday with morning and afternoon classes. Children who are 5 years old by September 15, 2024 will register for Kindergarten at a later time.
The first step in the district registration process is to fill out a form online at https://forms.gle/iwJRBbZidG5FsUz17. The Google link will put names on a list for the school and once the registration portal is open for Infinite Campus for next year, parents and guardians will be sent a link for online registration.
If there are questions, contact Fredericksburg Elementary at (563) 237-5364 or Durant Elementary at (563) 578-3354.

Special thanks to our HS Student Senate members for welcoming Durant students on High Five Friday!
