Bank Iowa Student-Athletes of the Week: Cate Snyder & Paxton Frost
"Cate has been steadily improving every week this track season. She has been a part of numerous successful relays over the past couple weeks. Cate competes in the 4x800, the 4x200 and the 4x400, she works tremendously hard in practice and it is showing in meets. Cate is active in the Cougar Strength and Conditioning program and also participates in volleyball for the Cougars, she is also an honor roll student." - Coach Leete
"Paxton is having a great sophomore season in the discus ring. He is steadily improving week to week and meet-to-meet. Recently, he threw his personal best in the discus with a throw of 148' 01". Paxton participates in football, basketball and baseball at SFHS. He is an honor roll student and a member of the National Honor Society." - Coach Leete

Cougar Track Update 4/27/26: The SFHS boys and girls Cougar Invitational start time has been updated. We will start the track meet at 5:15 pm for both running and field events.

"Livy has been a great Senior leader on the Cougar Track and Field team. In recent action, she placed 1st at the New Hampton Co-Ed and 2nd at the Hudson Invitational while running the 400 Meters. Livy also anchored the 4x400 Meter Relay to a 1st Place finish and the Sprint Medley Relay to a 2nd Place finish at the New Hampton Co-Ed. Livy participates in Cougar Strength and Conditioning, Cross Country, Basketball and Softball for the Cougars." - Coach Leete
"Antonio is a four year golfer for the Cougars. In recent action, he has carded a couple season/career low rounds, and helped the Cougars capture a couple more victories on the season. Antonio is a great teammate and helps support our younger golfers. We are very proud to have Antonio represent our school and program. Go Cougars!" - Coach Krueger

Cougar Golf Update: The boys golf tournament at A-P tomorrow has been postponed due to the forecast. The tournament will be now be played on Wednesday, April 29th at 10:00 AM.

"Braelyn is off to a great junior season on the track. She won gold in both the 100 meters and 200 meters, was part of the 1st place 4x400 Relay and 2nd place Sprint Medley at the New Hampton Invitational. She also placed 1st in the 100 meters and 200 meters and was on the 2nd place Sprint Medley at the Postville Relays on April 7. Currently, Braelyn ranks 6th in the 200 Meters in Class 2A. Braelyn is an honor roll student and a member of the National Honor Society and also competes in cross country and wrestling for the Cougars." - Coach Leete
"Gavin has had a great past couple weeks, he broke his own school record in the Shot Put at the Independence Mustang Relays with a throw of 55-02 and then broke his school record in the discus at the New Hampton Invitational with a toss of 169-06. Gavin qualified for the Drake Relays for both the shot put and discus events (only the top 24 field events in all classes qualify for the Drake Relays). Gavin is a dedicated participant in Cougar Strength and Conditioning and also competes in football and basketball for the Cougars. He was also recently inducted into the National Honor Society." - Coach Leete

"Kylee, a junior and a three year varsity golfer, had a great opening performance at South Hardin this past week posting a meet low score of 45 and earning medalist honors. She was a member of both the 2024 State Champion and 2025 3rd place teams and brings a lot of experience to the team. Kylee brings a lot of positivity and leadership to the team, a good attitude and is very supportive of her teammates." -Coach Krueger
"Jace had a great night at the Independence Relays. He anchored the Sprint Medley Relay to a 3rd Place finish, won gold in the 400 Meters while also setting a meet record with a time of 52.07.
