Just a reminder ALL MS/HS ATHLETES must have a completed physical form and concussion form filled out and turned in to the office before their first practice starts. New this year is the physical form. F’burg and Sumner clinics have it at their offices. Attached is what it looks like. Please make sure your athlete has this form and concussion form filled out and turned in before their first practice or they will not be able to participate. Both forms will be emailed to MS and all HS students received it in the mail. Any questions please contact MS/HS office.

Welcome our new 5-8 Band teacher, My name is Abigail Ingwersen and I am so excited to come to Sumner-Fredericksburg as the Middle School Band Director! I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from the University of Northern Iowa in 2020. I will also be starting a Master’s Degree in Music Education from the University of Northern Iowa starting this summer. This upcoming school year will be my third year teaching Band. I spent my last two years of teaching at Tripoli Community School teaching 5-12 band and 3-5 general music.
Middle school band helped me find my passion for music and shape who I am today. I was given a lot of opportunities to grow as a musician and to become a better person. It is my intention to provide our students those same opportunities.
When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my fiancé Colton Kurtz and our two dogs, Pepper and Jack. I love being outdoors and going on hikes. Some of my favorite locations are Backbone State Park and Maquoketa Caves. A few of my hobbies include gardening, playing my flute and playing bags/cornhole.
