I am delighted to inform you about an upcoming basketball camp hosted at SF High School Gym (Blue gym) on June 11, 12, & 13 for any S-F student entering grades 2-8 in the fall of 2024.
Camp Details:
Dates: June 11, 12, & 13
Location: SF High School Gym (Blue gym)
Time:
Elementary Camp (Fall Grades 2-5): 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM
Middle School Camp (Fall Grades 6-8): 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM

Overview of the Camps:
Elementary Camp: Focuses on fundamental skills like dribbling, passing, shooting, footwork, and individual offensive and defensive moves. It's designed to introduce beginners to the game of basketball and enhance existing skills.
Middle School Camp: Emphasizes shooting fundamentals, teamwork, and incorporating essential basketball skills into gameplay scenarios.
Additional Information:
Cost: $30 per child
$55 for two children from a single family
$80 for three children from one single family

The camp will be led by Coach Quigley, alongside other coaches and players from our Cougar Basketball family. This camp promises to be a rewarding experience for all participants, focusing on skill development and teamwork in a fun and engaging environment.

Sumner-Fredericksburg trapshooting in action! A great opportunity to showcase their marksmanship.
SFMS Families-Reminder Monday, May 13th is our community service day. Please have your student(s) dress appropriately and bring a second pair of older shoes. We will be picking up trash & planting flowers around Fredericksburg.
We also have our FINE ARTS NIGHT starting at 6:45pm with awards in the main gym. Band/Vocal students should report at 6pm.
MS softball and baseball practice starts Tuesday, May 14 at 3:30. Shuttle leaves at 5:15. Practices will be Tue/Wed/Fri. Friday shuttle will leave HS at 3:00pm for anyone needing a ride to practice. Please sign up for remind text for information during season.

As the school year draws to a close, it is our privilege to name 19 members of the Class of 2024 as recipients of the President's Award for Educational Excellence. This prestigious academic recognition takes the following criteria into consideration: a minimum 3.5 grade point average; highly proficient test scores on state-wide, standardized assessments; and recommendations from faculty, coaches, and staff for outstanding contributions to the school as a whole. On Friday, May 3rd, the 5th grade class attended the Norman Borlaug Spring Inspire Day in Cresco. The students learned about a wide range of science, history, and global topics while infusing Norman Borlaug's story and legacy. The Iowa Corn Biofuels Mobile Education Trailer was also there to talk about corn and soybeans and their many uses. A favorite was their Outreach Food Packaging where all the 5th graders were able to package food for children in Tanzania, Africa. What a neat opportunity these students experienced!

Don’t worry, Ms. Luebbers has your back.
But if you tell your teacher you have a tummy ache,
Ms. Luebbers will make sure it isn’t fake.
If you are really sick, she will give your parents a call,
So relax and don’t bawl.
Her son taught at FES, and he was ‘da bomb,
So we know she is also a good mom.
She will take care of your kids too,
But this is something most of you already knew.
When things go from bad to worse,
We are so thankful to have Ms. Luebbers, the nurse!
