May 15, 2025 Boys/Girls High School Track Class 2A State Qualifying Meet @ Crestwood information: Admission is $6.00 for K-12 students and adults. NO CASH SALES AT THE GATE. All tickets must be purchased through the IHSAA or IGHSAU websites: https://www.iahsaa.org/tickets
The only fan entrance is located on the North side of the Track nearest the parking lot. Fans paying with debit/credit cards need to use the main admissions gate.
The NICL Mega Conference Track Meet in Jesup will be $7 CASH ONLY at the gate tonight. Field Events start at 3 pm with running events starting at 4 pm. GO COUGARS!

Cougar boys/girls Basketball Camp hosted at SF High School (Blue gym) on June 10, 11, & 12 for any S-F student entering grades 2-8 in the fall of 2025.
Camp Details:
Dates: June 11, 12, & 13
Location: SF High School Gym (Blue gym)
Elementary Camp (Fall Grades 2-5): 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM
Middle School Camp (Fall Grades 6-8): 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM

Sumner-Fredericksburg Student-Athletes of the Week: Saela Steege and Tatum Nuss
"After two years away from the sport due to knee surgery recoveries, Saela has made a triumphant return to the track. Her determination and resilience are impressive. Saela is a genuine leader, respected by her coaches and peers, and is a great role model. She's extremely coachable, consistently positive, and always supportive of her teammates." -Coach Leete

SFHS Events: Week of May 5th

NEIU soccer match scheduled with Denver for tonight will now be rescheduled for Friday, May 2 @ Staker Field in Fredericksburg. With the forecasted conditions, we feel it is in the best interest of everyone involved to reschedule at this time.

SFHS has made the decision to cancel today’s track meet. The safety of our athletes, spectators, and event workers remains our top priority. With the forecasted conditions, we feel it is in the best interest of everyone involved to cancel at this time.

Cougar Golf Update: The postponed April 24 B/G golf meet with Wapsie Valley will now be played on May 6th at 4 pm @ Meadowbrook. Go Cougars!

Cougar girls track at Nashua-Plainfield on Thursday, April 24th. Please note that admission will be cash or pre-purchased Bound Tickets (Card machine is not available).
Sumner-Fredericksburg Student Athletes of the Month: Kate Swehla and Gavin Trask!
Kate has already demonstrated impressive growth from last season. She has been a key contributor in the Cougars’ first two meets, providing consistent scoring that has helped the defending 2A state champions jump out to a strong 3-0 start. Kate is a reliable performer, but also a great teammate who is highly coachable and brings positive energy to the team.
Gavin is making his junior season one to remember. He has already broken both the school shot put and discus records. Gavin’s determination, focus, coachability, and competitive spirit have made him a standout leader on the track and field team.

SFHS Track update: New Hampton is moving up the start time of tomorrow's co-ed meet to 4:00 PM for field events and 4:30 PM for running events. Tickets to watch the Cougars run can be found on Bound or purchased at the gate with a card.
