Yesterday we kicked off our Kids Heart Challenge service-learning program with the American Heart Association. All our students will be learning how to keep their hearts and minds healthy as well as the importance of helping others. Families also can raise donations for the American Heart Association, earn free PE equipment for our school, learn hands-only CPR, the warning signs of stroke, and other fun activities together by going to the link below! Last Wednesday, Jenny Gade and Sumner Police Department Sergeant John Horner came to Durant Elementary to teach 3rd and 4th Grade students about bike safety. Each student received a new bike helmet donatied by the CMH Auxiliary.

Last week students at Fredericksburg Elementary had their Cougar Way Assembly. Teachers presented two skits showing that fair doesn't always mean equal. Fairness is everyone getting what they need in order to be successful. We also celebrated our STAR students and birthdays.

SF Girls track updated schedule: the SF girls track will participate Thursday 4/6 at Independence. Tuesday, 4/11 the girls will now participate at Waukon (this is a change from the previously scheduled Osage meet).
It takes a village during the school year, and we have some fantastic paraprofessionals here at SFMS that we could NOT function without! Thank you for all you do with our students every day!

The nine SFHS band seniors traveled to Chicago in March. They got to eat some amazing food and see some great sights, including Willis Tower, The Bean, Lincoln Park Zoo, and they got to go to a fantastic performance by the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.
MS G/B Track starts today! Pictures will be Tues., April 4 during practice. Forms will be handed out at practice today. Also, track has a webstore to order SF track apparel and support MS athletics to buy new uniforms. Webstore will close April 10. Thank you for your support.

The SFMS Chicken Dinner Fundraiser tickets will go on sale April 1 through April 14th. You can buy tickets from any middle school student or at the SFMS Office. Funds are used to pay for field trips and other MS Activities. All funds go back to support our students. Cougar Yum!!!
