It was Halloween Mania at FES today! Staff dressed up as WWE-themed characters to start off our annual costume parade. Miss Henniges played each character's entrance music as he or she took the stage to strike his or her best wrestling pose. The line-up was:

FES had its October Cougar Way Assembly today. The teachers modeled respectful vs. disrespectful behavior while trick-or-treating. John Cena came out and did a math doubles rap song and presented math brag tags to Vivyan Fayer, Kane Petersen, Klay Steege, and Hattie Brincks.

8th grade science students stepped into the shoes of paleontologists today for an epic fossil dig simulation! 🦴
Using metric scales to measure their finds and analyzing surrounding rock types, these student scientists successfully cracked the case to identify ancient species and reconstruct the environments they lived in millions of years ago.

FES earned a Cougar Way Reward today. The secret code said, "Spooky Spider." Students went to the music room to do a Halloween Dance and a Spooky Spider Adventure. Then, students made a spider to eat! A special thank you to Caleb Terhune for his generous donation of Oreo cookies to make our snack!

Last week, SFMS 7th & 8th grade Student Council members attended the Youth Leadership Summit at Upper Iowa. They learned skills in communication, decision-making, problem-solving, creativity and leadership.

Our talented 8th graders just wrapped up an incredible robotics project: designing and engineering their very own spinning signs! By combining hardware and logic, they programmed motors to control the physical rotation and wired up touch sensors to trigger the movement on command. It’s amazing to see these young engineers learn firsthand how software instructions translate into real-world action. Check out their hard work in action! 👇
