It was an incredible weekend for Cougar athletics, headlined by Gavin Trask, who represented SF well at the Drake Relays! At Friday’s track meet at NFV, our athletes continued the momentum: for the girls, Braelyn Suckow took 1st in the 200 Meters and the Sprint Medley team (Woodring, Zupke, Suckow, Schoonover) also claimed 1st, while the 4x400 Relay and Distance Medley teams both secured 2nd place. The boys were led by Paxton Frost (2nd in Discus), Jace Brinkman (2nd in the 400 Meters), and the 4x400 Relay team who finished 2nd, with the Sprint Medley team taking 3rd. Meanwhile, on the links at Maple Hills, the Boys Golf team finished 3rd with a score of 176, led by top-ten finishes from Jackson Reisner (42) and Aiden Koester (44). Our Girls Golf team took home the win with a score of 189, highlighted by meet medalist Kylee Krueger, who shot a 41! Greyson Smith took 3rd (45), Katherine Swehla 5th (49), and Claire Koester 6th (54) to round out a dominant day. Congratulations to all our competitors!
It’s another great day to be a Cougar, though our schedule has shifted! The Boys Golf meet at Aplington-Parkersburg has been moved to Wednesday. However, the action still kicks off at home this afternoon as we host the Cougar Invitational! Come out and support our track and field athletes starting at 4:30 PM—good luck to all our competitors and let’s go, Cougars!
