  • Our Cougar Track & Field teams brought the heat to Independence last night, with both the boys and girls securing solid 5th place team finishes. The night was headlined by a historic performance from Gavin Trask, who took 1st place in Shot Put while shattering the New School Record with a massive toss of 55'3"! Joining him at the top of the podium were Jace Brinkman (1st in the 400m, 2nd in the 200m), Braelyn Suckow (1st in the 200m, 2nd in the 100m), and the Girls 4x400 Relay team of Sydney Zupke, Callie Trainor, Braelyn Suckow, and Livy Schoonover, who also claimed 1st place. Other standout podium finishers included Gavin Trask and Jamie Jones in 2nd for Discus, while Paxton Frost (Discus), Livy Schoonover (400m), Sydney Zupke (800m), and the Boys Sprint Medley Relay team all earned impressive 3rd place finishes. Way to represent, Cougars!

  • Our golf teams braved tough weather and an unfamiliar course at South Hardin last night for a varsity triangular, where the Boys team secured their first victory of the season over the Tigers and placed 2nd overall behind the defending state champions. The boys were led by seniors Jackson Reisner, who placed 4th with a 39, and Aiden Koester with a solid 41. On the girls' side, the Lady Cougars dominated the meet to take the team win and sweep the individual medals, with junior Kylee Krueger finishing as meet medalist (45) and senior Katherine Swehla taking second (48). It was a gritty, successful night for all Cougar golfers—way to go!
