**🚌Please note that the activity shuttle providing transportation from the high school back to the middle school does not run every day and the schedule changes every week. If you require a ride back to Fredericksburg after practices, be sure to check the weekly schedule. On the days the shuttle operates, it typically departs the high school at 5:30 PM. On all other days, students are responsible for securing their own transportation home.
Today we celebrate Paraprofessional Appreciation Day! A huge thank you goes out to Mrs. Pratt, Ms. Schiefelbein, Mrs. Dick, Ms. North, and Ms. Cleveland for the incredible dedication and support they provide to our students and staff every single day. Our school wouldn't be the same without your hard work and heart—we truly appreciate everything you do!
It was a historic opening night on the track for our Cougar Boys and Girls Track and Field teams at the Frostbite Invite! Competing in their first meet of the season, both teams secured impressive 3rd-place overall finishes, with the Boys outperforming a 10-team field and the Girls placing 3rd out of 12. Huge congratulations to Gavin Trask, who shattered the school record in the discus with a massive throw of 165'3" on his way to winning both the Discus and Shot Put titles. Jace Brinkman dominated the track with a triple-crown performance, taking 1st in the 100m, 200m, and 400m, while Kale Rucker earned 2nd in the 100m and 200m, Paxton Frost took 2nd in Discus, and the Boys Sprint Medley finished 3rd. On the girls' side, Braelyn Suckow swept the 100m and 200m, Livy Schoonover won the 400m, Jamie Jones took 3rd in Shot Put, and Sydney Zupke grabbed 3rd in the 800m. The Lady Cougars also showed incredible depth in the relays, with the Sprint Medley and 4x400 teams both taking 1st Place, and the 4x800 squad finishing 2nd. Way to start the season strong, Cougars!
A huge congratulations to our FBLA members who competed at State FBLA over the past few days! We are incredibly proud of the time, effort, and preparation you put in to reach this level. Congrats to Addison Fountain, Izabella Waterman, and Brylee Uhlenhopp, Special recognition to Addisyn Muzingo for earning 8th place in Future Business Leader and Keeley Meyer, Sadie Harrison, and Harley Teeling for their 7th place finish in Event Planning! Thank you all for your dedication, hard work, and for representing our program so well!
FCCLA will be selling boba and lemonade during homebase tomorrow so bring your money!
FBLA Officer applications are now available. Any student interested in applying can stop by Ms. Sadler’s room to pick one up. Applications are due back to Ms. Sadler by 3:30 on April 9th.
Attention Juniors and Seniors! Prom season is officially here, and it’s time to get your paperwork in order. If you’re planning to attend Post-Prom, please complete the Google Form sent to your email and pick up the required parent permission slips from the office—signed copies for both you and your date are due by April 10th. Additionally, "Out of Town Guest" forms are now available at the office and must be submitted by April 16th. Don’t delay—get those forms in so you can focus on the big night!

Applications are now open for the HERO (Healthcare Experience and Research in Oncology) program! This is a two-week virtual summer experience running from July 20–31, 2026, designed specifically for Iowa students. Participants will gain valuable hands-on research experience, receive professional mentorship, and earn a $500 stipend upon completion. Don't miss this chance to jumpstart your career in healthcare! Mrs. Bullerman is seeking 6 to 8 student volunteers to help supervise activities and work the concession stand during the upcoming Middle School Fun Night on Friday, April 17th, from 3:30 PM to 7:30 PM. 📵 Classroom Phone Policy
Phones must be put away in the designated class holder at the beginning of the period and should not be taken out until the class is over.
Phones are not permitted for use during instructional time—period.
What Happens if the Policy is Violated?
1st Time: Phone is immediately taken and held at the Main Office. You can pick it up yourself when school is dismissed.
2nd Time: Phone is immediately taken. The Main Office will call your parent or guardian who must come to the school to collect it.
3rd Time: Phone is immediately taken. Your parent or guardian must collect it. You will also be required to check your phone into the Main Office every morning and pick it up only after your last class for a period of time.
Parking Reminders:
🚫Attention students: Parking enforcement is now in effect. Illegally parked vehicles will be ticketed, and fines will be added to your school fees. All outstanding fees must be paid by the end of the school year to participate in graduation. Four or more parking violations will result in the loss of on-campus parking privileges.
All students who drive to school must have a visible parking permit in any vehicle they might drive to school. Parking permits are available at the high school office after filling out the google form for vehicle registration.
Students caught parking in the staff parking or in a no-parking zone will be fined; 1st violation=warning, 2nd violation=$5 fine, 3rd violation=$10 fine, 4th violation=On-school grounds parking privileges revoked.
No parking at Meadowbrook Golf & Country Club. Violators are subject to ticketing/towing
