**🚌Please note that the activity shuttle providing transportation from the high school back to the middle school does not run every day and the schedule changes every week. If you require a ride back to Fredericksburg after practices, be sure to check the weekly schedule. On the days the shuttle operates, it typically departs the high school at 5:30 PM. On all other days, students are responsible for securing their own transportation home.

  • Time to celebrate the final day of testing and getting back to our normal schedule! Sophomores finish up with science testing today during 2nd period in the auditorium. If you missed any days of testing, Mr. Wall will be in contact about making up any tests that you missed.

  • Attention Juniors and Seniors! Prom season is officially here, and it’s time to get your paperwork in order. If you’re planning to attend Post-Prom, please fill out the Google Form sent to your email earlier this week. You also need to pick up a Post-Prom parent permission form at the office; a signed copy is required for both you and your date if they aren't an SF Junior or Senior. All Post-Prom sign-ups and permission slips are due by April 10th, so don't delay! Lastly, keep an eye out for the "Out of Town Guest" forms coming soon.

  • Attention Freshmen, Sophomores, and Juniors! It’s time to get a head start on your future. Please check your email for a message sent this morning from Mrs. Herold regarding Hawkeye Community College’s Summer College Credit Program. This is a fantastic way to earn college credits while you’re still in high school, so be sure to review the details and see if it’s a fit for you!

  • Coats, sweatshirts, and water bottles—oh my! Our lost and found is officially overflowing again. If you’ve misplaced your favorite hoodie or can't find your water bottle, please head to the library to claim your belongings. Take a quick look today and help us clear out the clutter before your items find a permanent new home!

  • Seniors, we would like to honor you on our social media accounts! If you would like to be featured, take a minute to fill out the google form that I emailed to you. All submissions need to be completed by April 10th.

  • If you are interested in buying a Physics shirt for the Engineering Machine Design Contest Championships to show support for the Hot Mess Express, please see Mrs. Price for forms. Shirts are $13 and orders due April 2nd and shirts will come in on April 15th. 

  • Attention all freshmen, sophomores, and juniors: Are you interested in medicine, cancer research, or STEM? Applications are now open for the HERO (Healthcare Experience and Research in Oncology) program! This is a two-week virtual summer experience running from July 20–31, 2026, designed specifically for Iowa students. Participants will gain valuable hands-on research experience, receive professional mentorship, and earn a $500 stipend upon completion. Don't miss this chance to jumpstart your career in healthcare! Look for an email from Mrs. Price for registration information!

  • Seniors, If you would like to have your graduation party invitation posted on the bulletin board outside of the library, please turn them into Deb by Wednesday. April 15th.

  • Are you looking for a fun way to earn Silver Cord hours? Mrs. Bullerman is seeking 6 to 8 student volunteers to help supervise activities and work the concession stand during the upcoming Middle School Fun Night on Friday, April 17th, from 3:30 PM to 7:30 PM. If you are interested in helping out, please email Mrs. Bullerman as soon as possible at bullermanr@sfcougars.k12.ia.us.

  • Are you looking for the perfect summer job? The Sumner Family Aquatic Center is officially hiring lifeguards for the 2026 season! If you love being by the water and want to serve your community, check your school email for the full announcement. You'll find all the job requirements and the application link right there. There are additional employment opportunities for those at least 14 years old as well. Don't wait—get your application in and prepare for a great summer at the pool!

  • Plum Creek Golf Course is looking for part-time bartenders.  You must be at least 17 years old to apply.  If you are interested, please contact Nicolle Avenson at avensonn@sfcougars.k12.ia.us.

  • Summer Driver Education class through Homesafe Driving School is now open for registration.  Registration can be found at homesafedrivered.com/classes.  Class will run from May 13th through June 27th.  This class is limited to 16 students. 📵 Classroom Phone Policy

  • Phones must be put away in the designated class holder at the beginning of the period and should not be taken out until the class is over.

  • Phones are not permitted for use during instructional time—period.

What Happens if the Policy is Violated?

  • 1st Time: Phone is immediately taken and held at the Main Office. You can pick it up yourself when school is dismissed.

  • 2nd Time: Phone is immediately taken. The Main Office will call your parent or guardian who must come to the school to collect it.

  • 3rd Time: Phone is immediately taken. Your parent or guardian must collect it. You will also be required to check your phone into the Main Office every morning and pick it up only after your last class for a period of time.

Parking Reminders:

🚫Attention students: Parking enforcement is now in effect. Illegally parked vehicles will be ticketed, and fines will be added to your school fees. All outstanding fees must be paid by the end of the school year to participate in graduation. Four or more parking violations will result in the loss of on-campus parking privileges.

  • All students who drive to school must have a visible parking permit in any vehicle they might drive to school. Parking permits are available at the high school office after filling out the google form for vehicle registration.

  • Students caught parking in the staff parking or in a no-parking zone will be fined; 1st violation=warning, 2nd violation=$5 fine, 3rd violation=$10 fine, 4th violation=On-school grounds parking privileges revoked.

  • No parking at Meadowbrook Golf & Country Club. Violators are subject to ticketing/towing
