  • Mrs. Flexsenhar’s class will be picking up recycling during 3rd period today. Please place your recycling bins outside your door after this class.

  • Last week, students tipped their hats for Trypp and staff pooled their funds to have casual days all week. In total, we raised $977 for Trypp’s treatment expenses!!! We are so proud of our SFHS Family!

  • What a night for Cougar Cross Country! The team absolutely crushed it at the Grundy meet yesterday. Our girls' team dominated the competition, bringing home a fantastic first-place finish, led by Sydney Z who medaled in fourth place. The boys also had a strong performance, securing fifth place out of 14 competitive teams. A huge shout-out to the runners who hit new personal records (PRs): Sydney Z, Greg B, Chase P, Greyson P, and Oakley F! Come out and cheer on your Cougars again next Tuesday at the Jesup meet!

  • Friday Night Football is here! Tonight, your Cougar varsity football team hits the road to take on the Aplington-Parkersburg Falcons. Our fan theme for the evening is "Dude, I Love Football," so show your spirit by coming dressed in your favorite college team gear—let's pack the stands with our best college colors! Kick-off is at 7:00 PM. Then, on Saturday, be sure to wish our Cougar volleyball team good luck as they travel to Denver for tournament play, with games starting bright and early at 9:00 AM. Go Cougars!

  • Just a quick heads-up to all Hope Squad members: today is the last day to turn in your parent permission slips. You must have a signed form to be members!

  • Hope Squad meeting during homebase today. Make sure to check in with your homebase teachers before going.

  • Attention, all lipsync participants: Next Thursday, the lipsync battles will begin at 8:28 a.m. This is an important adjustment to the day, as we'll be running a special schedule that also includes the Iron Man Volleyball tournament. If you have an AM release, please be aware that the show will go on without you, so be sure to adjust your schedule to not miss your part. The full schedule for the day has been attached to the announcement email.

  • 💃🕺Are you bringing a guest from another school to the Homecoming Dance on October 4th? If so, you need to turn in a Dance Guest Request form to the office by Wednesday, October 1st. You can pick up a form in the office or print one from the announcement email.🪩

  • Do you still owe FBLA chapter dues? You can give your $20 to Ms. Sadler until October 17th.

  • Struggling with a class or an assignment? Don't forget about our NHS peer tutoring program! Peer tutors are available to help you during home base every Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday in Mrs. Brinkman's room. Always check in with your homebase teacher before going.

  • If you are interested in participating in winter cheer for wrestling or basketball, please check your emails for a link to a google form. You must use your school email to fill out the form.

  • 🧼Help keep our school healthy! Remember to wash your hands with soap and water throughout the day. It's the best way to fight germs and keep yourself and your classmates from getting sick.🫧

  • Homebase Reminder: Check in with your homebase teacher before going to Cougar Time or any other homebase activities. Failure to do so will result in an unexcused absence.

  • 💻Please be sure you are checking your emails daily. You may be missing important information from your teachers and school administration.

  • Energy Drinks: A reminder that our school's health and wellness policy limits caffeine in beverages to 100mg. Please avoid bringing drinks exceeding this limit to school. These drinks include 12oz. Alani Energy (200mg), 16oz. Monster Energy(160mg), 12oz. Celsius(200+mg), and similar products. READ THE LABELS!

Parking Reminders:

🚫Attention students: Parking enforcement is now in effect. Illegally parked vehicles will be ticketed, and fines will be added to your school fees. All outstanding fees must be paid by the end of the school year to participate in graduation. Four or more parking violations will result in the loss of on-campus parking privileges.

  • All students who drive to school must have a visible parking permit in any vehicle they might drive to school. Parking permits are available at the high school office after filling out the google form for vehicle registration.

  • Students caught parking in the staff parking or in a no-parking zone will be fined; 1st violation=$5, 2nd violation=$10, 3rd violation=On-school grounds parking privileges revoked.

  • No parking at Meadowbrook Golf & Country Club. Violators are subject to ticketing/towing

  • 🅿️Designated Student Parking:

    • Seniors: East side of the main lot (between the median & Meadowbrook) & across the street

    • Juniors: Gravel lot across the street

    • Sophomores: behind the west side of the building & the gravel lot across the street

    • Freshmen: behind the west side of the building

    • NOTE: DO NOT PARK ON THE STAFF SIDE OF THE MAIN LOT, THIS INCLUDES EVERYTHING WEST OF THE MEDIAN
