🏃🏻♀️The Girls Track team had a fantastic showing at the Waukon Early Bird Meet last night finishing in 2nd place overall! Leading the way with 1st place finishes were the Sprint Medley Relay team (Cami J, Livy S, Braelyn S, and Saela S), the 4x100 Relay team (Judisch, Schoonover, Steege, and B. Suckow), the 4x200 Relay team (Judisch, Schoonover, Steege, and B. Suckow), and the 4x800 Relay team (Ella P, Madalyn V, Kendall S, and Jaci S). Individual first-place honors went to Cami J in the 100 Meters and Braelyn S in the 200 Meters. Also contributing to the team's success were Saela S with a 2nd place finish in the 200 Meters, Kendall S with a 3rd place in the 1500, and the 4x400 Relay team (Schoonover, Vsetecka, Pitz, and Snyder) who finished in 3rd place. Meanwhile, the Boys Track team competed at the Jesup Invite and finished a strong 6th out of 12 teams. A huge congratulations to Gavin T, who broke the school record in the discus with an impressive throw of 146'8"! Gavin also took 1st place in the Shot Put and 3rd place in the Discus. Rounding out the top finishers for the boys was Tatum N, who took 1st in the 400 Meters, and Owen S, who placed 3rd in the 400 Meter Hurdles. Let's give both our Girls and Boys Track teams a big round of applause for their hard work and achievements!
Congratulations are in order for several of our FFA members who represented our chapter with distinction at the 97th Annual Iowa FFA Leadership Conference! Sydney Z delivered her best rendition of the FFA Creed, earning a silver rating and placing her among the top 10 individuals in the state. Tory B and Andy B achieved a significant milestone, walking across the stage to receive their prestigious Iowa FFA Degrees, a recognition earned by less than 4% of FFA members statewide. Colton Z was celebrated for his 1st place individual finish in the Agronomy contest from June and further showcased his skills by earning a second-place finish in the Ag Discussion Meet. Finally, Jamie J and JayLynn S served as our chapter's voting delegates, actively participating in the selection process for the 2025-26 state FFA officer team.
