Congratulations to both the Boys and Girls Track and Field teams for their strong performances last night at the Independence Mustang Relays. For the boys, first-place finishes went to Gavin T in the Shot Put, Tatum N in the 200 Meter Dash, the 4x200 Relay team of Noah H, Liam S, Jace B, and Tatum N, and the 4x400 Relay team of Noah H, Liam S, Jace Brinkman, and Tatum N. Kallen W earned a second-place finish in the Discus, while Jace B placed third in the High Jump, and the Sprint Med Relay team of Noah H, Liam S, Tatum N, and Owen S also finished third. On the girls' side, Jamie J took first place in the Discus. The 4x200 Relay team of Cami J, Livy S, Braelyn S, and Saela S finished in second place, and third-place finishes went to the Sprint Med Relay team of Cami J, Livy S, Saela S, and Braelyn S, as well as the 4x800 Relay team of Sydney Z, Jaci S, Kendall S, and Ella P. Let's give all our track and field athletes a big Cougar cheer for their hard work and achievements!
In golf news, the Lady Cougars kicked off their season with an impressive victory last night at South Hills in Waterloo against Columbus Catholic and South Hardin. The final team scores were: Sumner-Fredericksburg (SF) with 181, South Hardin with 230, and Columbus Catholic with 243. The Cougars dominated the individual standings as well, capturing the top three spots: Chloe B was the medalist with a low score of 39, followed by Kylee K as the runner-up with a 43, and Kate S in third place with a 44. Congratulations to the Lady Cougars on their outstanding start to the season!
There will be an FCCLA meeting during homebase today.

Get ready to dance the night away! Prom will be held on Saturday, April 26th. If you plan to bring an out-of-town guest, please remember that you must obtain and complete an out-of-town guest form. These forms are available at the office. All completed out-of-town guest forms must be returned to Ms. Sadler by Wednesday, April 23rd. Late forms will not be accepted. Don't miss out on this unforgettable night!
🚫Attention students: Parking enforcement is now in effect. Illegally parked vehicles will be ticketed, and fines will be added to your school fees. All outstanding fees must be paid by the end of the school year to participate in graduation. Three or more parking violations will result in the loss of on-campus parking privileges.
Driver’s Education Courses: Students interested in taking Driver's Ed may register through Homesafe Driving School LLC for spring classes. At the top of the website, go to "Classes" and you can see winter options for classes in Waverly or if you scroll down, you'll see an option for May 14th in Sumner.🚗
Homebase Reminder: Check in with your homebase teacher before going to Cougar Time or any other homebase activities. Failure to do so will result in an unexcused absence.

Energy Drinks: A reminder that our school's health and wellness policy limits caffeine in beverages to 100mg. Please avoid bringing drinks exceeding this limit to school. These drinks include 12oz. Alani Energy (200mg), 16oz. Monster Energy(160mg), 12oz. Celsius(200+mg), and similar products. READ THE LABELS!

Fayette Co. Fair Queen: Applications for Fayette Co. Fair Queen are now open until June 30th. You do not need to be a resident of Fayette County to run. Candidates must be between 16 and 21 years old as of August 7, 2025. This is a wonderful scholarship opportunity. Please see the attached flier for more information.
Applications to run for Miss Fredericksburg are now open and are due May 5th. You must be 16 years old by August 1, 2025 and have a Fredericksburg address. The position comes with a $750 scholarship. Contact Marie with any questions. 319-240-4929

All students who drive to school must have a visible parking permit in any vehicle they might drive to school. Parking permit applications are available in the office. If you get a different vehicle, you need to update your parking permit.

Students caught parking in the staff parking or in a no-parking zone will be fined; 1st violation=$5, 2nd violation=$10, 3rd violation=On-school grounds parking privileges revoked.
