  • 🏃🏻‍♀️Great job to our Girls Track and Field Team for their 3rd place finish at Postville last night! Every one of our 15 healthy athletes scored points. Special congrats to our first-place Sprint Medley, 4x800, 4x200, and 4x100 relays, and to Braelyn S for her individual victory in the 200! Also, congratulations to Saela S (200), Kendall S (1500), and Cami J (100) for their 2nd place finishes, and Jamie J for her 3rd place in Discus.

  • Our Boys Track and Field Team also took 3rd place at EdCo last night, with strong performances across the board! Congratulations to Gavin T for his 1st place in Shot Put and setting a new school record with a throw of 51 feet, 0.25 inches! Also, congrats to 2nd place finishers, Kallen W in discus and the 4x400 relay! 3rd place finishers were the 4x200 relay, Sprint Medley relay, Tyson R & Jace B in the high jump.

  • No TAG today. Ms. Franzen will be here all day on Friday instead.

  • Freshmen, Sophomores, and Juniors, check your emails for a survey regarding the lunch menus for next year. These need to be completed by Friday. 

  • Get ready to dance the night away! Prom will be held on Saturday, April 26th. If you plan to bring an out-of-town guest, please remember that you must obtain and complete an out-of-town guest form. These forms are available at the office. All completed out-of-town guest forms must be returned to Ms. Sadler by Wednesday, April 23rd. Late forms will not be accepted. Don't miss out on this unforgettable night!

  • Attention Seniors: Graduation gown measurements will take place during homebase this week. Please bring the shoes you plan to wear for commencement. Measurements will be conducted by homebase, as follows: today, Leete's homebase; Thursday, Dillon's homebase; and Friday, Bolte's homebase. If you have any questions, see Mrs. Bolte.

  • 🚫Attention students: Parking enforcement is now in effect. Illegally parked vehicles will be ticketed, and fines will be added to your school fees. All outstanding fees must be paid by the end of the school year to participate in graduation. Three or more parking violations will result in the loss of on-campus parking privileges.

  • Driver’s Education Courses: Students interested in taking Driver's Ed may register through Homesafe Driving School LLC for spring classes. At the top of the website, go to "Classes" and you can see winter options for classes in Waverly or if you scroll down, you'll see an option for May 14th in Sumner.🚗

  • Homebase Reminder: Check in with your homebase teacher before going to Cougar Time or any other homebase activities. Failure to do so will result in an unexcused absence.

  • 💻Please be sure you are checking your emails daily. You may be missing important information from your teachers and school administration.

  • Energy Drinks: A reminder that our school's health and wellness policy limits caffeine in beverages to 100mg. Please avoid bringing drinks exceeding this limit to school. These drinks include 12oz. Alani Energy (200mg), 16oz. Monster Energy(160mg), 12oz. Celsius(200+mg), and similar products. READ THE LABELS!

  • Silver Cord Hours Opportunity: Spring Clean Up Day at Hillcrest! Come ready to work! Bring a rake, gloves, and yard clean up tools from 3 PM- 5PM on April 9th!

  • Fayette Co. Fair Queen: Applications for Fayette Co. Fair Queen are now open until June 30th. You do not need to be a resident of Fayette County to run. Candidates must be between 16 and 21 years old as of August 7, 2025. This is a wonderful scholarship opportunity. Please see the attached flier for more information.

  • Applications to run for Miss Fredericksburg are now open and are due May 5th. You must be 16 years old by August 1, 2025 and have a Fredericksburg address. The position comes with a $750 scholarship. Contact Marie with any questions. 319-240-4929

  • Chickasaw County Fair Queen Applications are due April 30th. This is a scholarship opportunity for both the winner and runner up

  • Get ready to roll into fun with the Sumner Youth Bowling Program!

    • What: Learn the fundamentals of bowling, improve your skills, and have a blast!

    • Where: Thunder Lanes, Sumner

    • When: Starting Sunday, March 30th, for 6 weeks!

    • Time: 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM each day

    • Cost: Only $7 per week!

    • This program is open to all students in grades K-12, and anyone who wants to have fun and get better at bowling. Don't miss out on this exciting opportunity!

  • Lifeguards Wanted:Sumner Family Aquatic Center is looking for lifeguards! 

    • Training reimbursement! Training dates are available to choose from (but act quickly before they are no longer available)

    • You must be at least 15 years of age

    • Current guards can receive a referral bonus if their referral is hired!

Parking Reminders:

  • All students who drive to school must have a visible parking permit in any vehicle they might drive to school. Parking permit applications are available in the office. If you get a different vehicle, you need to update your parking permit.

  • Sophomore/Freshman lot-Northwest side of the building

  • Junior/Senior lot-South lot across the street

  • Senior lot-East side of the median on the east side of the building

    • NO PARKING EAST OF THE BLUE GYM, INCLUDING THE CURB BY THE GOLF COURSE. NO EXCEPTIONS!

  • Students caught parking in the staff parking or in a no-parking zone will be fined; 1st violation=$5, 2nd violation=$10, 3rd violation=On-school grounds parking privileges revoked.

  • No parking at Meadowbrook Golf & Country Club. Violators are subject to ticketing/towing
