DES Track and Field Day is TODAY at the High School All students will participate in running events from 8:20 a.m. - 10:45 a.m Allstudents will return to Durant for lunch at 10:50. All students will have lunch at Durant and then start field events at the high school track from 12:45 p.m.- 2:30 p.m. Our activities will conclude around 2:30 p.m. At the end of each track and field day, students will berequired to return to Durant Elementary to finish out their school day. No student may be taken fromthe event at the high school.

Reminders: 

• Looking for a way for your child to stay active and gain confidence in the water this summer? The Sumner Area Swim Team (SAST) is looking for swimmers ages 4-18 of all skill levels to join the Sharks! The season runs from June 1st through July 18th at the Sumner Family Aquatic Center. For just a $50 registration fee, they can improve their technique and build great teamwork skills. Interested? Head to the Sumner Library on May 7th at 6:00 PM for the informational meeting! For more details, check out their Facebook page or contact Ann at (319) 240-9293.

• If your student is interested in participating in the 2026 Cougar Pride Football Camp here is the sign up form.  The camp is Aug 5th & 6th from 4:00-5:00 p.m. at the HS for 5th-8th grade students.

• If your student is interested in participating in the Cougar Basketball Camp here is the flyer.  The camp is June 9-11 from 10:30-12:00 at the HS Blue Gym

Parents, 

Please help us keep our car line moving smoothly and efficiently by displaying your car rider sign in your window as you pull up for pick up.  At times, we have different staff who will be watching for the signs so we may not know all of you by your car.  We appreciate your help!   If you need another sign please email Mrs. Larson in the office larsonj@sfcougars.k12.ia.us

Morning Drop Off/Afternoon Pick Up at Durant - Thank you for following our procedures to help us get all cars loaded and on their way today in 8 minutes!  Just a few reminders:

• Please remember that the north side of 5th street is a no parking area.  We don't want parents and students to walk between the line of cars that are unloading on the south side of the street.

• Please plan to have your child(ren) exit and enter your car from the passenger side so we don't have students walking between cars.   

• If you need additional car signs for other people who may pick up your child(ren), email Mrs. Larson at larsonj@sfcougars.k12.ia.us.  We did make a list Monday and will get those to you Tuesday at dismissal.
