Mark your Calendars... Picture Day is September 24th!! Flyers will be going home 1 week before picture day.
**Cougar Fans,
Please support the Class of 2027 fundraiser to help raise money for prom and graduation expenses by purchasing cougar wear.
We have t-shirts, long sleeve t-shirts, sweatshirts and hoodies in navy blue or forest green that can be worn throughout the year to support our Cougar teams. The order window closes September 10, 2025 so order your gear soon.
The items will arrive by October 2nd to wear for Homecoming 2025.
When you fill out the order form please enter the student's name in the contact information. First name dash students teacher's last name in the first box and the students last name - grade in the second box. This is the link to order form

Flag Football started for 1st-6th graders at the HS on Thursdays.
If your 4th- 6th grader is interested in participating in Sumner’s Park and Rec Volleyball please see this informational/sign up form to register.
A few reminders and changes after our first day of dismissal.
St. John's Church Stop - Due to a large number of students on the Bear Route, we will now be moving the students who get off at the church in the afternoon to the Frog Route. Students will still ride the Bear Route in the morning at this time. We may need to make adjustments as needed once our rider's plans become more consistent.
Morning Drop Off/Afternoon Pick Up at Durant - Thank you for following our procedures to help us get all cars loaded and on their way today in 8 minutes! Just a few reminders:
Please remember that the north side of 5th street is a no parking area. We don't want parents and students to walk between the line of cars that are unloading on the south side of the street.
Please plan to have your child(ren) exit and enter your car from the passenger side so we don't have students walking between cars.
If you need additional car signs for other people who may pick up your child(ren), email Mrs. Larson at larsonj@sfcougars.k12.ia.us. We did make a list Monday and will get those to you Tuesday at dismissal.
Important Traffic Changes at Durant Elementary Starting Monday, May 19th:* Due to the 5th Street bridge replacement (between Polk and Division), 5th Street will be closed until at least the end of October 2025. This will impact Durant Elementary drop-off/pick-up, which will now require parents to approach eastbound on 5th Street and turn north onto Polk after.
***IMPORTANT!*** Please tell your child to stay out of the construction zone on 2nd street. For their safety they need to stay away from that area on their way to the bus stop. Please talk to your child about this, we have already had complaints and just want to keep everyone safe.
