"Those girls who took part in the Little Cougar Volleyball Camp in August, reminder that tonight, September 2nd, is Youth Night at the High School Volleyball Game! Please bring your admission ticket, wear your light blue camp shirt, and be at the high school by 6:00pm! You will be able to line the court to give the high school girls high fives during their starting lineups! We can't wait to see you there! Go Cougars!"
Flag Football started for 1st-6th graders at the HS on Thursdays.
Volleyball Registration forms are out for 4th-6th graders, get signed up!
A few reminders and changes after our first day of dismissal.
St. John's Church Stop - Due to a large number of students on the Bear Route, we will now be moving the students who get off at the church in the afternoon to the Frog Route. Students will still ride the Bear Route in the morning at this time. We may need to make adjustments as needed once our rider's plans become more consistent.
Morning Drop Off/Afternoon Pick Up at Durant - Thank you for following our procedures to help us get all cars loaded and on their way today in 8 minutes! Just a few reminders:
Please remember that the north side of 5th street is a no parking area. We don't want parents and students to walk between the line of cars that are unloading on the south side of the street.
Please plan to have your child(ren) exit and enter your car from the passenger side so we don't have students walking between cars.
If you need additional car signs for other people who may pick up your child(ren), email Mrs. Larson at larsonj@sfcougars.k12.ia.us. We did make a list Monday and will get those to you Tuesday at dismissal.
Important Traffic Changes at Durant Elementary Starting Monday, May 19th:* Due to the 5th Street bridge replacement (between Polk and Division), 5th Street will be closed until at least the end of October 2025. This will impact Durant Elementary drop-off/pick-up, which will now require parents to approach eastbound on 5th Street and turn north onto Polk after.
***IMPORTANT!*** Please tell your child to stay out of the construction zone on 2nd street. For their safety they need to stay away from that area on their way to the bus stop. Please talk to your child about this, we have already had complaints and just want to keep everyone safe.
