School Counseling Curriculum 

(Guidance Lessons)

School counselors are school professionals with a mental health perspective, who specialize in helping students succeed personally, socially, and academically. 

As part of the comprehensive school counseling program, the Durant Elementary school counselor teaches bi-monthly lessons in every K-5 classroom. These lessons are aligned with the American School Counseling Association Standards (http://static.pdesas.org/content/documents/ASCA_National_Standards_for_Students.pdf) to teach developmentally appropriate skills and support positive character and behavior.
