Meet the Teacher
Mr. Mark Jurgenson
"Mark is thrilled to be in his 3rd year at SF and his first year as the full time Elementary Music Teacher. Originally from Denver, IA, Mark is a 2007 graduate of UNI's School of Music. In 2009, Mark was selected to attend the Chicago College of the Performing Arts prestigious Graduate Program in Opera Studies as 1 of 15 students out of a field of more than 1200 highly trained and talented applicants. After completing a Masters of Music, Mr. Jurgenson began a career in opera performance overseas across Europe, in Germany, Greece, Italy and the UK. In 2019, Mark returned to UNI to take courses to complete his teaching license in Music Education, realizing his long standing a passion in teaching outside of stage performance."
